CONSTITUTION OF INSTITUTIONAL ETHICS COMMITTEE (IEC)

The Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) is constituted to ensure ethical standards in research and academic activities within the institution. The committee reviews research proposals, protects the rights and safety of participants, and ensures that all activities are conducted according to ethical guidelines and institutional regulations. The committee consists of experienced professionals from different fields to provide fair, transparent, and unbiased ethical review.

Objectives

  • To ensure ethical standards in research and academic activities
  • To protect the rights, dignity, safety, and well-being of research participants
  • To review and approve research proposals ethically and scientifically
  • To ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory ethical guidelines
  • To promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in research practices

Functions

  • Review research proposals submitted by students and faculty
  • Evaluate ethical issues involved in research studies
  • Monitor ongoing research activities when required
  • Ensure informed consent and confidentiality are maintained
  • Provide guidance on ethical conduct in research
  • Recommend approval, modification, or rejection of research proposals
